ABOUT Jr III RACING
At Jr III Racing we take great pride in offering high-quality race car preparation and trackside support for clients in SVRA, HSR, and AER. We offer everything from full car restoration to high-performance upgrades for vintage and historic race cars.
In an effort to meet all of our client's high-speed needs, we have expanded our stable of
house-cars. In 2020, current and future clients will have the opportunity to compete at the professional level. We are set to run two full-time Ligier JS P3 Prototypes in the
IMSA Prototype Challenge Series (IPC).
Our owner and General Manager, Billy Glavin, worked for Hendrick Motorsports for 5 years building and preparing Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s race cars. He currently works with HMS Motorsports, the industry leader in Motorsport's safety equipment. He has been racing since he was 18 years old and has raced extensively with BMW Club Racing, SVRA, VCDA and many others.
Prior to each race your car will be thoroughly cleaned both interior and exterior. All regularly scheduled maintenance will be performed including, but not limited to, brake fluid and oil changes. A thorough under-body inspection will be done and all nuts and bolts will be tightened. Suspension and chassis alignments will be performed as needed using scale pads and Hubstand Pro setup plates for a precise and repeatable setup.
REPAIRS AND ENHANCEMENTS
Between races, any repairs or enhancements the owner pre-approves will be completed. We have all the tools and equipment needed to properly maintain your race car. We have light fabrication capabilities and TIG welding using a Miller Dynasty 200DX. We also have a very close relationship with Atwell Fabrication for all our heavy fabrication needs. Located in the heart of NASCAR country, we have access to all the resources and suppliers used by the top racing teams including HMS Motorsport for safety equipment, BMRS for plumbing, DCE for wiring, as well as many others.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Our first priority is the safety of our drivers. Though our relationship with HMS Motorsports we have access to the latest safety gear used by professional race drivers around the world. We also have extensive experience in the correct installation of safety equipment in the race car. HMS represents Stilo Helmets, Schroth Belts, Cobra Seats, Alpine Stars clothing and Lifeline Fire Systems, among many other suppliers.
Our 10,000 sq. ft race shop located in Mooresville, NC is fully air-conditioned and features epoxy floors. Each race car has dedicated space and storage racks in the shop. Jr III Racing has two brand new custom Featherlite 53' spread axle liftgate trailers for transporting and servicing your race car. Both trailers are capable of holding 4 race cars. Our trailers are towed down the road by a 2016 Volvo VNL780. Amenities on the trailers include lower level air conditioning, spacious driver lounge, data and engineering office space, two large flat-screen televisions, 25 kW diesel generator, 80-gallon air compressor, and an observation platform on top. The trailer exteriors are equipped with a 51' x 21' fully enclosed awning to provide the cars and equipment protection from the elements while at the track.
At the track your car will be serviced by an assigned mechanic who will prepare the car including fueling, tire rotation, cleaning and correcting any mechanical issues that may arise. You do not need to work on your car, but if you would like to we can always use an extra pair of hands. We will also supply food and beverages during the race day while drivers relax between races under our canopy or inside the air conditioned trailer. Our goal is to make your track experience as enjoyable and stress free as possible so you can focus on racing.
