Elkhart Lake, Wisc. (28 July 2020) – Jr III (“Junior Three”) Racing returns to Road America for the third round of the IMSA Prototype Challenge season on Saturday, August 1st (TRACKPASS on NBC Sports Gold, 11:35AM ET). Father and son, Greg and Eric Palmer will wheel the No. 03 Copps Industries Ligier JSP3 around the iconic 14-turn Wisconsin road course.
Road America serves as the Palmer’s home track – just an hour north of their hometown of Colgate, Wisconsin.
The free-flowing 4.048-mile course is second nature for Greg and Eric Palmer as they both have made professional racing starts there.
Jr III Racing had their most recent Road America outing for the SVRA weekend in June. Fielding two father-son prototypes - one for Greg and Eric Palmer as well as a second entry for Billy Glavin and Bill Glavin Jr. - the team scored two second place finishes and a third place in three race starts.
The Palmers are riding a wave of momentum following the IMSA Prototype Challenge weekend at Sebring International Raceway last month where the driving duo scored the team’s best IMSA finish with a fifth place.
Focused and steady driving are key for the youngest Palmer to bring the Ligier machine home clean.
“Going into the IMSA weekend at Road America, I am confident in both my dad (Greg Palmer) and I’s knowledge and ability around the track,” said Eric Palmer, who opened his race week by celebrating his 21st birthday. “Road America is a special track and I want to do what I can for a successful weekend for the Jr III Racing team.
